As
Skyfall is approaching their first birthday, we thought it was time to try out
the restaurant located on the busy Church Road. Having just appointed a new
head chef Brian (who has been there since the opening but is now running the
kitchen himself) we were lucky enough to try a new set menu
which is a taster of what will be launched this summer.
We
had an amuse- bouche to start which whetted our appetites for the delicious 3
course meal that followed. This was a lovely touch and impressed us. The
starter was a Crab and Courgette Cannelloni which was a fresh taste of the sea
- very handy as the restaurant is located only a few minutes from the beach!
The main was a combination of melt in your mouth succulent lamb noisette and a
crispy, rich, lamb croquette placed on potato puree and summer vegetables.
Our
dessert was white chocolate cheese cake with cherry sorbet with a delicious
surprise of meringue underneath. All the dishes were beautifully presented and
all the produce is locally sourced.
Skyfall
is not only a restaurant serving elegant modern cuisine but also a live music
lounge showcasing local talent. What better way to spend your weekend than
ordering a cocktail, sitting back and listening to some acoustic, soul or jazz
music in a stylish and relaxed setting.
We particularly liked the
interior. They have gone for a rustic understated but colourful style. We sat
next to contemporary tiled wall art and opposite an amazing wine rack feature
on the wall.
Skyfall
is a refreshing addition to Hove, bringing with it the a creative and
passionate chef, a stripped back bright and funky interior and an exciting new
summer menu which we cannot wait to experience again.
